Share The Load With Friends

Why not invite friends over for the evening, and then go to theirs another evening so that you’re only using the one oven and one lot of heating for those evenings – as well as obviously enjoying their company you'll be saving on electric and heating!

Community Fridge / Hubs

Before you go shopping, head to your local community fridge or Hub first. Our local supermarkets are donating unsold items to groups who can then distribute the food locally. Some places give it away and some ask for a small donation. I would recommend heading here on the way to the supermarket to see what there is before going to do your shop. It’s good quality and we all know use by dates aren’t really worth living by, especially in the current climate. You’ll save some money and save the food from landfill while supporting your local community group.

Cashback websites

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again – Cashback websites = free money!

Okay it can take some time for the payments to come through, but with good planning, you can make a lot of money back. I used Top Cashback in November last year to purchase my car insurance, pet insurance and mobile phone contract, and I made back a whopping £183.50, and I intend to do the same again this year. You can get money for referring friends too – up to £30 per friend in some cases!
